Elevino
Wooden Children’s Stool
Design Intent
Create a simple piece of wooden children’s furniture held together by joinery.
Target Market
Families with young children
Children’s small size makes it difficult for them to achieve everyday tasks without assistance. From washing hands to reaching things on the counter, the uses for a children’s stool are never-ending!
Inspiration/ Ideation
Laser Cut Models
I experimented to decide if I wanted my project to be whimsical or technical. I decided on a simple stool to highlight the joinery of the piece.
Chosen design
Testing Proportions
The age range I chose to design for is those 3-5 years old. Research into average height of child and counter was done as well as research to determine tread width and step height.

Full Size Model
After construction of my full size model, I adjusted the proportions to enlarge the stool. I also measured where mortis were drilled to ensure the final model is precise.
